Research in the Elkin group includes (1) methods development, especially in transition-metal catalysis, (2) natural products synthesis, especially the synthesis of bioactive natural products, and (3) machine learning and the development of predictive models that guide innovations and discoveries in those areas. We approach ML with a chemistry-first perspective, as synthetic organic chemists that use computational tools to develop new reactions and synthetic routes.
